David Ivy-Taylor


David joined Kanner & Whiteley in 2023 and focuses on environmental litigation. Prior to joining the firm, David clerked for Judge Roland L. Belsome at the Louisiana Court of Appeal, Fourth Circuit.

David graduated cum laude from Tulane Law School with a Certificate in Environmental Law and was awarded the Haber J. McCarthy Environmental Law Award. During law school, he practiced as a student attorney in the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic, representing indigent clients in environmental justice cases.

David is a member of the State Bar of Louisiana, is licensed to practice in all Louisiana state courts, and has been admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

Among other cases, David currently represents the State of New Mexico, the New Mexico Environment Department, and the New Mexico Office of Natural Resources Trustee in the MDL captioned In re Aqueous Film-forming Foams Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2873, No. 2:18-mn-2873-RMG (D.S.C.). The case seeks an order requiring the Air Force to clean up the extensive contamination at Cannon Air Force Base and Holloman Air Force Base as a result of PFAS contained in AFFF used at the bases. The case also seeks to recover response costs and natural resource damages at military sites across the State under CERCLA, a first-of-its-kind case. David works closely and collaboratively with New Mexico agencies and employees in prosecuting this case.
